Emergency Appeal: Sudan
The continued conflict in Sudan is disproportionately impacting on the lives of Sudanese women and girls, severely hampering all humanitarian operations. Urgent assistance is critical to support women and girls who need food, water, dignity kits and safe spaces. Even before this violence, humanitarian needs were already at an all-time high. One third of the population – a staggering 15.8 million people – need humanitarian aid. At least 4 million children and pregnant and lactating women are severely malnourished. Some 3.7 million people are internally displaced, mostly in Darfur.
UN Women is working with women’s organisations, partners and other UN agencies to provide immediate lifesaving response to enable women to remain safe and cover their basic needs. This include – among others – dignity kits, psychosocial support, trauma assistance, and emergency cash assistance. Please help UN Women reach more women in Sudan with the emergency assistance they need.
