UN Women has condemned the attacks on civilians, loss of life and suffering in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.  We are deeply alarmed by the devastating impact on civilians, including on women and girls.

Since the escalation of violence in Gaza, thousands of civilians have been killed or injured, and countless others have been exposed to the violence. Women and their families in Gaza are in desperate and immediate need of food, water, electricity, medicine and safe access to and protection of essential civilian infrastructure including hospitals.

We call for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access to provide aid to the most affected. We join the Secretary General’s call for the immediate release of hostages.

UN Women has been supporting Palestinian women since 1997 to achieve their social, economic, and political rights. We remain present on the ground to provide support and assistance and will do so for as long as it takes.

We have started an emergency fund to support UN Women’s projects for the benefit of women, girls and their families.

Please donate today to protect and support women and their families in the Gaza crisis.
