UN Women UK Awards

Last year, we came together for an uplifting, hilarious and emotional day celebrating the most amazing contributors to gender equality,
hosted by the AllBright and ‘Guilty Feminist’, Deborah Frances-White.

2020 has been a tough year for us all. It’s more important than ever that we celebrate the people who have gone out of their way to make life better for those most in need, and support each other through this next lockdown.

So even though we can’t be in person for this year’s awards, we think it will be our best yet. Join us for an evening of celebration, arts and activism.

World Human Rights Day – 10th December, 6.30-8pm

The event will be a festive evening that you’ll be able to join from home, sitting at virtual tables with other powerful figures working for human rights.

With our exciting hosts and speakers, we’ll be presenting special recognition awards, between musical and artistic performances exploring womanhood and equality.

The proceeds from your ticket will fund our programmes working with at-risk women and girls, to help them stay safe, retain access to paid work, and protect their families during the ongoing challenge of Covid. We’ve had to urgently scale up this work in 2020, at the same time as losing funding due to the crisis, so your contribution is critical to allowing us to keep these programmes open.

We can’t wait to see you there!

If you can’t come along on the 10th December but still want to take part, you can buy a ‘Pay It Forward’ ticket,
which we will give to somebody who can’t afford their own ticket.

By joining us, you’re making a big difference to women in need.

Nominate someone

Know someone who has gone out of their way to support women, girls or marginalised groups this year? Nominate them for a special recognition award!

We just need to know why you think they deserve to be recognised, and how we can reach them.
Nominations close at 5pm GMT on 28th November.

If you have any questions about nominations, the event or UN Women UK’s work, get in touch with us at awards@unwomenuk.org

Our Sponsors for the Awards

With thanks to our incredible sponsors who have made it possible for these awards to go ahead, and made a huge contribution to our programmes working on the ground with women and girls worldwide.
