Keeping women safe during COVID-19
Women and girls are subjected to violence, discriminated against, and denied a voice all over the world. And as COVID-19 spreads and social distancing is required, this will only get worse. Women make up 70% of frontline healthcare workers worldwide, they take on a disproportionate burden of unpaid care work, and domestic violence is already rising with isolation. We're working closely with the World Health Organisation to collect data on the effects of COVID19 on women, provide technical expertise to support women marginalised people to protect themselves as the virus spreads, and running programmes to help women stay financially independent during the crisis. This work urgently needs your support. We're asking you to help end violence and discrimination against all women, starting by supporting one girl today.
