The United Nations Association (UNA) of the UK is bringing the UN to London with one of the largest civil society events ever to be held in the city.
This all-day event will give you the opportunity to:
- Hear high-level speakers from the United Nations, government and civil society.
- Participate in debates on the Olympic Truce, nuclear non-proliferation, sustainable development and human rights.
- Engage with experts and opinion-formers in interactive panel discussions.
- Get your UN career on track in an exclusive session on working for the United Nations.
- Enjoy films, live performances, art displays and much, much more.
Invited speakers include UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, UK Foreign Secretary William Hague and UNA patron Sir Patrick Stewart . Other high-level speakers from the UN, NGOs,global businesses, and UK Parliament have also been approached. The finalised panel of speakers will be confirmed at a later date.
The 2010 UN Forum was attended by over 1,400 participants and featured speeches by Helen Clark (Head of the UN Development Programme), Hans Blix (former Chief UN Weapons Inspector) and Mary Robinson (former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights). Watch the video here.
